Pregnancy Calendar - Week 24

Your Baby:
Baby is really packing on weight now and space inside your womb is becoming more and more cramped. Your baby's ears are fully functional now, and he may even startle at a loud sound. He can hear the sound of your heart and the whooshing of blood through your veins, and he also hears your voice. Baby is still about 30cm long and weighs 600 grams.

At this stage you may notice your hair and nails growing really strong and really fast - this is normal. But you may also hair growth elsewhere, like your neck, belly, top lip etc. This is caused by pregnancy hormones and the hair will disappear after birth. What you may also notice are skin discolourations, on your forehead, chin, nose and cheeks - this also due to hormonal changes and your skin should return to normal after birth.
