Pregnancy Calendar - Week 37
This week your baby is considered to be ‘full term'. Baby's growth actually slows down this week and she is really ready for the outside world. While still inside your womb, baby is practicing breathing, sucking, looking around, and other typical newborn activities.
You are almost ready to deliver your baby! This week your healthcare professional may perform an internal exam to check the following things: dilation (how open your cervix is), ripeness (how soft your cervix is) and effacement (how thin your cervix is). For baby to be delivered naturally, you need to be 10cm dilated and the cervix as soft as the inside of your mouth and 100% effaced.
